FROM SURRY HILLS TO THE WORLD: THE CHAMBERS STORY

Brand Story — 1 June 2025

In 2014, we opened a single café in Surry Hills with one belief: that great coffee should be the standard, not the exception. Ten years later, that belief is taking us global.

It started with a single espresso machine on Crown Street.

In 2014, the founders of Chambers Fine Coffee opened their first venue in Surry Hills with a simple conviction: that specialty coffee, served with precision and care, should be accessible to everyone — not just the cognoscenti. No pretension. No compromise.

The first year was humbling. Sydney's café scene was already competitive, and the team was learning on the job. But the coffee was exceptional, and word spread the way it always does in a tight-knit neighbourhood: one cup at a time.

By 2017, Chambers had opened its second venue in Newtown. By 2019, five. Today, Chambers cafés pour across Sydney — from the CBD to the Inner West, from the North Shore to Western Sydney — each one holding to the same standard that defined that first cup in Surry Hills.

The brand has always been about more than coffee. It is about the culture that forms around a great café: the morning regulars, the baristas who remember your order, the tables where ideas are born. Chambers is a gathering place as much as it is a coffee brand.

Now, in 2025, the brand is ready to take that culture global. Master franchise opportunities are open in eight international markets — Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and New York — each chosen for its sophisticated coffee culture and appetite for premium, design-led brands.

The Chambers story is just beginning.
